MEGA Bloks vs MEGA Construx: what's the difference?
Builders ask us this a lot, because both names sit on the same shelf. Short answer: MEGA Bloks are our big blocks for babies and toddlers, MEGA Construx were our building sets for older kids — and today both live under the MEGA name.

MEGA Bloks: big blocks, first builds
MEGA Bloks First Builders are large, rounded blocks made for hands that are still learning to grip. They are about stacking, sorting and pulling apart, and the sets add vehicles, block buddies, musical toys and storage bags. Ages start at 12 months.
MEGA Construx: details and figures
MEGA Construx brought standard-size bricks, poseable micro action figures and licensed worlds — Halo, Pokémon, Masters of the Universe, Call of Duty — plus open-ended lines like Magnext and Inventions. Sets range from age 5 to adult collectors.
What happened to Mega Construx?
MEGA Construx was folded into one MEGA brand. New Pokémon, Halo and Hot Wheels sets carry the MEGA logo, while earlier Construx sets are still around and still click with the new ones.
Which one to choose
Under three, choose MEGA Bloks. From about five or six, move to MEGA building sets for kids with small bricks and figures. Collectors can mix eras freely — the bricks are the same system.
Big blocks for little hands
MEGA Bloks First Builders are all about the toddler: big blocks that little hands can grip, building fine motor skills with every stack. Learning colours and shapes is part of the fun, and a collection of building blocks can expand from one bag to a whole play corner.
Building sets for kids who want a world
MEGA Construx and today's MEGA sets give a child a whole world to build: Pokémon to pose, Halo vehicles to customize, Hot Wheels to race. Creativity runs both ways — follow the instructions, then pull it apart for endless adventures of your own.
Do the bricks fit together?
MEGA Bloks big blocks fit other MEGA Bloks; MEGA Construx bricks fit the MEGA building sets of every licence. The two sizes are separate systems by design, sized for different hands and ages.
